BIG Weekend! Team Hammer/Rockbridge had several wrestles compete in the Perry McCluer tournament. If you haven’t seen John Scott Moore wrestle lately, you are in for a treat. John Scott is on a rampage with his Snap to Front Headlock to Cradle. Unbelievably, John Scott has placed 1st in his last 4 tournaments. He has won his last 12 matches in a row! I have a feeling John Scott felt a little “left behind” when we went to the high school state meet in Salem this year-he’s planning on taking that trip next season!
Other wrestlers at the Parry McCuer tournament were Quinten Youngblood (1st), Marcus Strecker (1st), Richie Tomlin (2nd), and Will Strecker (3rd).
Also Competing this weekend was Judah Bruce. Judah tested his abilities at the NHSCA Freshman Nationals. This was truly a “national” tournament as there were wrestlers from 16 different states in his bracket as far away as California! Judah had a great showing as he placed in the “top-12” out of 25-only one match away from being named “All-American”. Congratulations Judah!
On a side note: Coach Bruce woke up Sunday morning to blue Smiley Faces painted on his truck windshields. They looked an awful lot like “girl” smiles-Clair, Regina…know anything about this?? Haha!
