Add Siler Chosen to Represent Group AA in All-Star Meet

We are pleased to announce that our very own Add Siler has been chosen to represent Group AA in the prestigious AAA vs AA All-Star dual meet held Saturday March 5th at Kecoughtan High School in Hampton Virginia. The event will begin at 6:30 pm and feature top ranked wrestlers from across the state in the four divisions mentioned above. This event has been a tradition for 11 years and will once again be sponsored by The Virginia Challenge. The AA team has been put together for the second year in a row by Paul Chirico Assistant Coach at Fluvanna County High School. Coach Chirico always invites and encourages the coaches of the individual wrestlers to share a seat in the coach’s corner while their wrestler is on the mat.  In years past AAA has dominated this event. Their base is in the eastern portion of the state, and representation from the top performers has never been a problem. AA sometimes struggles to put together its best lineup because of the distance the wrestlers from the western end must travel to attend.  Always optimistic Coach Chirico believes this is the team that may unseat AAA this year. The base of the team is coming from a traditional powerhouse program from Brookville High School coached by Don Shuler with the assistance of Warren Stewart. Shuler will be bringing 6 of his state placers to face off against their AAA counterparts.  3 spots on the team will be filled by another top AA program New Kent coached by Mike Faus. Local powerhouse Poquoson will be bringing two Bull Islanders and their coach Mike Casey, unfortunately Jeffrey Ogburn (2nd AA) is unavailable due to an injury suffered in the finals in Salem.
